Melentini – 9 Songs For Post​-​Greek Films

Melentini is a Berlin-based singer / songwriter from Greece. Having studied piano and theory from a very early age, she graduated from the Conservatory and worked in education as a music teacher. After attending the Philosophical School of Athens she started performing in theatre as a stage musician and actress, and as a singer and trumpet player with various underground bands in Athens. Shortly after she wrote her own songs and performed them with a new band called The Running Blue Orchestra. In 2014 she moved to Berlin to explore new forms of the live arts. Melentini has recorded and released 3 more studio albums so far, with her work remaining independent as she never felt an allegiance to any particular scene. Check out Melentini’s session at Syd Records back in May 2018. 9 Songs For Post-Greek Films is a collection of songs with Greek lyrics from soundtracks she composed for Greek contemporary films between 2013 and 2020.
