Vic Chesnutt – At The Cut

29,00

Vic Chesnutt was an American singer-songwriter from Athens, Georgia. He released 17 albums during his career, including two produced by Michael Stipe. His musical style has been described as a “skewed, refracted version of Americana that is haunting, funny, poignant, and occasionally mystical, usually all at once”. Injuries from a 1983 car accident left him partially paralyzed; he used a wheelchair and had limited use of his hands. At the Cut is his penultimate album release before his death on December 25, 2009, from an overdose of muscle relaxants. The song “Flirted with You All My Life” alludes to Chesnutt’s own attitude toward suicide, including his previous attempts to take his own life. Along with North Star Deserter, this album features various members from the Canadian post-rock band Thee Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra, as well as Fugazi’s vocalist and guitarist Guy Picciotto.
