Tom Waits – Orphans: Bastards
27,00 €
Tom Waits is an American singer, songwriter, musician, composer, and actor. His music is characterized by lyrics focusing on the underside of society, delivered in his distinctively deep, gravelly voice. During the 1970s, he worked primarily in jazz, but since the 1980s his music has reflected greater influence from blues, vaudeville, and experimental genres. Despite little commercial success domestically, Waits influenced many musicians and has captured an international cult following. In 2011, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and included in the 2015 Rolling Stone’s 100 Greatest Songwriters of All Time. Orphans: Brawlers, Bawlers & Bastards is a limited edition three LP set by Tom Waits. The set is a collection of 26 rare and 30 brand new songs and received critical acclaim upon its release in 2006. Bastards is the third set, featuring 20 songs on two LP’s. Among them, a Charles Bukowski poem about enlightenment (“Nirvana”) and two songs, “Home I’ll Never Be” and “On the Road”, originally penned by Jack Kerouac.
