Selofan – Cine Romance

Selofan is an electro-minimal duo from Athens, Greece, formed 2012 by Joanna and Dimitris. Selofan’s sound and style possesses an extraordinary variety, while at the beginning they were stamped as a minimalsynth act, they soon developed their own audiovisual mix, combining different elements of electronic music, singing or storytelling in different languages and presenting themselves in such a theatrical way, that each live performance is emotionally overwhelming. Selofan have their own musical and aesthetical identity, underlined by their artwork and videos, and through their numerous releases they have become protagonists of the dark electronic music scene. Cine Romance was released in 2017 via Fabrica Records in 1000 copies. The album is singular in concept but varies in genres: dark-wave treasures, synth-punk spells, melodic saxophone fairy-tales and early industrial beats coexist in harmony, while a hallucinating voice sings or whispers poems of great emotional tension in different languages, exposing uncomfortable truths.
