Queen – A Night At The Opera
30,00 €
Queen are a British rock band formed in London in 1970. Their classic line-up was Freddie Mercury (lead vocals, piano), Brian May (guitar, vocals), Roger Taylor (drums, vocals) and John Deacon (bass). Their earliest works were influenced by progressive rock, hard rock and heavy metal, but the band gradually ventured into more conventional and radio-friendly works by incorporating further styles, such as arena rock and pop rock. Estimates of Queen’s record sales range from 170 million to 300 million records, making them one of the world’s best-selling music artists. They heavily influenced heavy metal’s evolution by discarding much of its blues influence. A Night at the Opera is their fourth album, released on November 1975. Produced by Roy Thomas Baker and Queen, it was reportedly the most expensive album ever recorded at the time of its release. Upon release, A Night at the Opera topped the UK Albums Chart and peaked at number four on the US Billboard 200, becoming the band’s first platinum-certified album in the US. It also produced the band’s most successful single, “Bohemian Rhapsody”, which became their first UK number one. Despite being twice as long as the average length of singles during the 1970s, the song became immensely popular worldwide.
