N.W.A – Straight Outta Compton

N.W.A was an American hip hop group from Compton, California. The original lineup, formed in early 1987, consisted of Arabian Prince, Dr. Dre, Eazy-E, and Ice Cube, with DJ Yella and MC Ren joining later that year. Its members were among the earliest and most significant popularizers and controversial figures of the gangsta rap subgenre, and the group is widely considered one of the greatest and most influential groups in the history of hip hop music. Straight Outta Compton is their debut album, released on August 1988. It is a seismic landmark that redefined hip-hop. By blending Dr. Dre’s cinematic, funk-heavy production with Ice Cube’s razor-sharp lyricism, the album forced suburban America to confront the grim realities of police brutality and systemic neglect.
