Your Hand In Mine – Every Night Dreams

Your Hand In Mine is a duet from Thessaloniki, Greece. The project emerged from members of the post-rock band “Shortcat” in late 2006, giving them the opportunity to express their love to acoustic instruments, french folk songs and street musicians. With a collection of custom-toy instruments and machines, they act as live-looping based duet presenting a new-romantic, deeply personal sense of chamber music. Every Night Dreams happened when the band was asked to write an original score for the Mikio Naruse silent film “Yogoto No Yume” (1933) and perform it live during the screening of the film in an International Thessaloniki Film Festival. With acoustic instruments (piano, mandolin, accordion, guitar and others) dominating, combined with the moderate but inspired use of electronic media, Your Hand In Mine managed to create a work of high lyricism and integral compositions, the arrangement of which might resurrect memories from the work of the great Greek composer Manos Hadjidakis or the French artist Yann Tiersen. This unique work comes packaged in a special unfolding artwork with a 24-page booklet illustrated by the French artist, Benjamin Nerot.
