Uniform – Shame

Uniform is an American noise rock band, formed in 2013 in New York. The group consists of vocalist Michael Berdan and guitarist Ben Greenberg. Greenberg previously played with The Men and Pygmy Shrews whereas Berdan sang for Drunkdriver and York Factory Complaint. The band came together after Greenberg and Berdan, who played in bands 3 years prior, started living on the same street. The band’s style has been described as noise rock, industrial metal, industrial rock and industrial punk. The band incorporates elements from industrial music, thrash metal and power electronics. Shame is their fourth album, released in September 2020 via Sacred Bones Records. This record marks the debut of Mike Sharp on drums, adding a natural fire to the engine. His presence grinds down their metallic industrial edge with a live percussive maelstrom. In Shame, the trio – Michael Berdan (vocals), Ben Greenberg (guitar, production), and Mike Sharp (drums) – strain struggle through an industrialized mill of grating guitars, warped electronics, war-torn percussion, and demonically catchy vocalizations.
