Ornette Coleman was an American jazz saxophonist, violinist, trumpeter, and composer. He is considered the founder of free jazz,  a term he invented for one of his albums but later disapproved. His works have become standards and are cited as important early works in free jazz, and he has received many awards including a Grammy for lifetime achievement and a Pulitzer Prize For Music. Change of the Century is his fourth studio album released in 1959. His quarted included Don Cherry on pocket trumpet, Charlie Haden on bass, and Billy Higgins on drums. This release contains a bonus track (A4 – Music Always) from the same session that was not included on the original LP.
