Hank Williams III – Ramblin’ Man
Hank Williams III or Hank 3, is an American musician, singer and multi-instrumentalist, known for his alternating musical style, between country, punk rock, and heavy metal. He is the principal member of the punk metal band Assjack, the drummer of hardcore punk band Arson Anthem, and former bassist of Phil Anselmo’s band Superjoint Ritual. He has released eleven studio albums, including five for Curb Records. Williams is the grandson of Hank Williams, the son of Hank Williams Jr., the nephew of Jett Williams, and the half-brother of Holly Williams. Ramblin’ Man is a compilation album released in 2014. It contains two tracks that feature the influential punk rock band, The Melvins – the title track and Hank Williams Sr. cover, “Ramblin’ Man” and Merle Haggard’s “Okie From Muskogee”. The album also features additional classic covers including ZZ Top’s “Fearless Boogie”, Johnny Paycheck’s “I’m The Only Hell My Mama Ever Raised” and Peter La Farge’s “Marijuana Blues”. Two unreleased tracks include the original version of “On My Own” and “Runnin’ & Gunnin'”.
