Girls Against Boys – Venus Luxury No1 Baby
Girls Against Boys is an American indie / post-hardcore band, formed in Washington, D.C. in 1988. The group began as a side project of bassist Eli Janney and Fugazi drummer Brendan Canty, but the latter due to commitments with Fugazi left in 1990. Janney went on to recruit three former members of D.C. hardcore punk group Soulside to complete the lineup. Girls Against Boys employs dual bass guitars, a rarity in rock music. Venus Luxure No. 1 Baby is their second studio album, released in August 1993, and produced by Ted Niceley, known for his work with Fugazi. The album was included in the book 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die. The LP contains 11 songs, runs for 46 minutes and contains an MP3 version as well.
